PROJECT DETAIL
The Box House
Mr. Manju
The Box House a modern reinterpretation of the elemental cube, reimagined as a vessel for light, nature, and fluid inhabitance. We crafted a home that balances clear, compact geometry with expansive visual and spatial freedom: a form rooted in Mysuru’s climate and context, where every edge frames light, air, and glimpses of the outdoors.

Design Philosophy
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
— Leonardo da Vinci
The Box House embraces clarity of form. Its strong geometry is pared down to an essential cube, but within this simplicity lies sophistication — a spatial richness born from voids, courtyards, and frames of light. The design avoids excess, allowing openness and restraint to define the atmosphere of the home.
Interiors
“Materials are not matter, they are carriers of meaning.” — Peter Zumthor
Every surface is chosen with care — exposed textures, tactile finishes, and earthy tones narrate a story of authenticity. Natural stone, warm wood, and polished concrete coexist seamlessly, blurring the lines between interior and exterior, lending depth to the otherwise minimal form.
The interiors continue this dialogue of restraint and warmth. Subtle contrasts of soft neutrals and natural materials shape serene living spaces, while daylight animates surfaces through deep-set openings. Functional elegance is prioritised over ornament, creating a calm yet intimate domestic environment.
“Less is more.” — Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
Minimalism here is not austerity, but generosity: in light, in ventilation, and in fluid connections between spaces. The absence of clutter allows for a heightened experience of the essential — family, nature, and quietude.
THE RESULT
The Box House emerges as a timeless modern home — bold in geometry, subtle in detailing, and deeply human in experience. It celebrates clarity without sterility, restraint without compromise, and offers a residence that will remain enduring yet contemporary for generations to come.
